Adult beginner
singing lessons
I specialise in teaching adults new to singing how to understand, use, train and develop their voice. My lessons adopt a holistic approach; teaching you not just how to sing, but how to understand your vocal anatomy, develop technical skill and build your confidence as a performer.Above all, my lessons are a space for you to have fun and express yourself.
My mission
Beyond simply teaching you how to sing, my mission is to give you a little reprieve from the stress of everyday life: To reconnect with your body, your voice, and to feel more in tune with yourself (pun intended!).If I can give you 45 minutes each week to have fun, release some tension and put your worries aside... that is my goal.
Genres
Being trained in popular vocals has given me valuable experience singing and teaching general vocal techniques applicable to many genres. The term 'popular vocals' includes most songs you might have heard on the radio over the past century, from 1920s swing to 2020s pop.As a performer I predominantly sing jazz or similar contemporary music — however my teaching is relevant to many genres.

About me
Although musical as a child, I didn't realise I could sing until I was fourteen years old. It took another three years (and persistent encouragement from a friend) for me to pluck up the courage to start singing lessons.I attended Chalmers MacKay music school in Aberdeenshire for several years, where I gained the confidence to perform at local events, weddings and gigs. During this time I took vocals exams, being awarded my Grade 8 Popular Vocals by the Royal London College of Music.I took a step back from performing to focus on composing, gaining recording experience at studios in Edinburgh, Aberdeenshire and Melbourne. Over the years, I continued to write and record music. In 2022, I began studying music production at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Surrey. I graduated in 2024 with a First Class BA(Hons) degree.Since then, my focus has been on teaching: Sharing my passion for singing with others and hoping that I can impart some knowledge along the way. I enjoy accompanying my boyfriend, a pianist, as a jazz vocalist and occasionally singing to my cat when he allows it.
